10 Step Trick or Treat Guide for getting your site Digged by many before Halloween.

***Most of theses are actually tricks, I just had to throw in treats since it's so close to Halloween. ***Your Treat will be getting your site digged ;)




Trick#1 Create Universal appeal: Speak plain English. Don't assume that everyone know what you're talking about. Some jargon (words or expressions used by a particular group that are difficult for others to understand) will actually turn people away from your article if they don't understand it.




Trick#2 Negative Slant: Some content with negative slant wil get discussed more than a positive slant. It's just like rumors. A bad rumor will spread quicker than a good rumor. For example. I can go to work and tell everyone at my job that I just got blessed with money. Do you think they care? No one said anything. Then one day I decided to flip the script (I like to joke around, My husband gave me sense of humor ;)), I said to only one of my co-workers, I just got suspended. Do you know in five minutes , I seen other co-workers whispering and looking. Wow!!!



Trick#3 The Killer Headline: This one is common knowledge. If your headline sucks, it does matter if you had the best content on line, it will not be read by many. Try to come up with something unique. Please tell me what you think of my title.



Trick#4 List format: Anything in a list format (like the top 10 list) is a surefire winner with the Digg crowd.



Trick#5 Stand out from the crowd. This trick applies to both your headline and your content. There are millions of web owners who trying to grab some attention. So try to be different.



Trick#6 Kill the Cat with Curiosity: Curiosity is a great marketing technique. Especially if you want to create that buzz.



Trick#7 Image is Everything: This is an Easy Trick. All you need to do is simply add a photo or image to your story.



Trick#8 An Attractive Website: You will get repeat traffic and an viral affect if your site is appealing.(I am still learning and growing with this one) Just look at the best blogs around and notice what they have done different and try to duplicate or step up your game just a little.



Trick#9 Focus on your readers: By focusing on your readers you make them seem more involved in the story. It can be quite boring if all you do is talk about yourself. It helps keep their attention.



Trick#10 Add a story to your site. The famous Big Al tells all book says Facts tell, Stories sell. Include a personal story about yourself and it make others more comfortable with you.
